  3. This is disk 22 of the freely distributable AMIGA software library.
  4.  
  5. This disk contains two new "strains" of microemacs, both derived from
  6. early releases of Dave Conroy's microemacs.  There is currently an
  7. attempt on usenet, lead by Dave Brower, to coordinate an effort to
  8. merge features from the different versions into a single supported
  9. microemacs.  In the meantime, perhaps you can find a feature you need
  10. in one of these...

  12. Lemacs        Microemacs version 3.6 as enhanced and supported
  13.         by Daniel Lawrence.  This version works and has been
  14.         tested on Unix V7, BSD 4.2, Amiga, MS-DOS, and VMS.
  15.         Enhancements include overwrite mode, support for Amiga
  16.         function keys, reverse video status line, numeric
  17.         arguments using <ESC><number>, replace, buffer specific
  18.         editing modes, word wrap mode, goto-line, buffer rename,
  19.         insert-file, execute named command, describe bindings,
  20.         startup files, and more.

  23. Pemacs        Microemacs as enhanced by Andy Poggio.  New features
  24.         include use of <ALT> keys as Meta keys, default buffers
  25.         on buffer switch, mouse support, higher priority to
  26.         improve interactive response, creation of backup files,
  27.         paragraph fill, word wrap, query replace, and support for
  28.         function keys.
